SOUTH BEND — Paramount Schools of Excellence, a new school opening this fall in South Bend's former Tarkington Elementary, is offering a first look this week at renovations since an Indianapolis-based charter network was awarded the building in 2021. Paramount will invite the public into its new South Bend school for the first time Friday with a family movie night. Leaders say they're excited to welcome the community in and introduce Paramount's vision ahead of the new school year . 'Academic excellence happens here for every child,' said Paramount South Bend's principal, Nikki Tredway, who's been working over the last several months to recruit teachers and build community connections ahead of the school's opening.
